I love Psalms for so many reasons. It shows the author's honesty, trust, and complete expression of need for God. Although this Psalm sounds very encouraging and uplifting we often see in other Psalms' that the author goes through very trying times and is very emotional... I have heard David compared to that of a 'teenager going through puberty' because of how emotional he gets. :) I feel like the Psalms are almost like a journal for David, a diary of sorts, where he just writes down these breathtakingly honest and real poems about His savior.
I was in a small group once where our leader challenged us to write our own Psalm. I loved the challenge... it felt so right to praise God in a poetic form.
I almost feel like there isn't much to say about this specific Psalm because it is very open, the meaning is very clear. But what can be said is how much we need God's protection... and man does He give it to us!
Dear Lord, I thank You for this Psalm and for all the Psalms. Thank You so much for David's honesty and heart. Thank You for protecting and guiding us always, even when it feels like we are wandering aimlessly. You always have a plan. We love and worship You forever. Amen
