Ephesians 6:1-3

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

Talk about good things coming from the strangest of situations. Tonight I was just getting into bed when my dad called me downstairs. The floor was covered in water... and of course the toilet was overflowing. My sister Deanna, Dad, and I worked all together to clean up the crazy mess that was everywhere...

I originally guessed my dad's reaction would've been something of anger, but as Deanna and I worked to clean up the mess we all actually began to lightly joke with each other. And in the aftermath, we ended up spending time together (once we cleaned everything up).

It made me think of these important verses. It is so important to follow our parent's direction and guidance. They have lived many years and have much experience. My dad did a great job of leading and telling us what we needed to do. We honored and obeyed our father (in a much lighter way than most situations) and we ended up not having too bad of a time doing one of the messiest jobs any of us had done!

Obeying your mother and father will take you a long way!

Dear Lord, I thank You so much for these verses that are speak so much truth about the wisdom and guidance parents provide, especially those of the Lord. I pray I can be as great of parents as mine Lord, and that my future husband and I would reflect you immensely to our children! I also pray that for anyone reading this. Lord we love You and praise You for this day and for everything!

In Jesus Name, Amen

♥Chrissy
